about

Conceived and programmed as a linear listening experience, ‘The Technological Afterlife’ is Quaid’s most expansive and fully realised work to date; the compositions stretch out, the playing is freer - the freaky late-nite vibe still remains - but is taken to a more cosmic, even mediative place, as the album develops.

The music’s headier aesthetic reflects the mood conceptually, as Quaid takes us on a journey that is at times both deeply introspective/personal and a fiery invocation of his wider concerns about contemporary life.

Alongside regular collaborator, vocalist ‘Shepherd’ (22a) Quaid has enlisted heavyweight soloists from the underground live jazz/electronic music scene: notably ‘Tadek Pekacz’ (the Polish Chick Corea) and Italian synth-sax maverick ‘Flippo Pratesi’.
